Spruce Street Harbor Park

New to Philadelphia this year is the Spruce Street Harbor Park. I’d heard a lot about it, and figured we had to go this past weekend to at least check it out.

Romper (Club Monaco similar here), Purse (Michael Kors), Sunglasses (Tory Burch), Jewelry (Ring – Madewell, Watch – Michael Kors)

The park has hammocks, vendors, games, and pretty much everything you’d want/need to enjoy a day outside!

You even get the feeling you’re on the shore or at the beach with all the beach chairs & bright nautical prints.

At this point in the day, Kyle & I were starving. We assumed there HAD to be food, and were hopeful it’d be good food! So we made our way to the Blue Anchor Cafe, where there were 2 old cargo containers renovated into mini-restaurants.

The food was brought to us via the Garces Group (anyone know Chef Jose Garces from Food Network?!) so we may have had higher hopes than we should have for what to expect. The fare was simply burgers & fries, although ice cream was available which I think helped out. We were so hungry we opted to get 2 Village Burgers (basic cheeseburgers).

While I waited for food, Kyle headed to the other cargo container that sold the beer. All local Philly beers (Yards & Yuengling), I got the Yards Saison & Kyle got the Yards Brawler IPA.

Unfortunately, all of Philadelphia thought it’d be great to spend the day down here, so the wait was pretty long but we FINALLY got to eat and sat down on a picnic table right by the Delaware River.

Next to us, they had hammocks over the water (limit 2 people at a time – which made me nervous to try it out), but it was awesome to see everyone relaxing, reading, chatting with friends, and enjoying the summer day.

You could even go across to ride in a Swan Boat – something I wanted to do, but Kyle wasn’t really in the mood for. Apparently sitting in a swan boat requires you to be in a certain “mood”…I feel like it’d be great regardless of my mood…

After lunch, we walked around a little to check out the other vendors & people watch some more before heading home for the day. It was definitely a fun place to stop by – so I recommend it if you’re in the Philly area before the end of August!!!
