In search of…the perfect summer nail polish

I absolutely love nail polish. I love it so much, I have to force myself to give my nails a break (currently on said break) so my nails don’t get too weak. I try to take vitamins, eat well, and treat my nails better so they aren’t so brittle, and it seems over time these habits are helping.

But as I sit here and type with bare nails, I can’t help but think of what color they should be painted next.

I don’t shy away from a bright color (I do shy away from nail art or too much glitter for some reason…but my opinion can be swayed) and I feel that the summer demands a bright color. I’ll save my plums, greys, and nudes for fall.

So for this series of “In search of…” the topic is the perfect summer nail polish. I’ve combed through magazines, blogs, stores in search of the best shades and have narrowed it down to 5 (+bonus shades) awesome shades I want to try before it’s officially fall!

I have yet to splurge and buy Deborah Lippmann, but hear it’s worth it, and if I had to start I’d choose this beautiful orange (1 – aptly named Don’t Worry be Happy). I typically stick with Essie (3 – Play Date, 4 – Fiesta, 5 – Naughty Nautical) since I went to the actual Essie nail salon in NYC for a manicure & fell in love. I’ve been turned on to CND Vinylux (2 – Electric Orange) you can’t beat the quality as it’s genuinely a 10 day chip free manicure.

In addition the those 5, I’ve been DYING to try Julep, and think this resort collection would be a great “starter kit” into the brand. Anyone tried Julep and love it??
