With spring right around the corner, I’m getting more & more excited to host & plan a few fun gatherings as we move into our new house. And while I can’t throw a party EVERY week (I wish…), I wanted to share 5 Spring Party Ideas to inspire you to get out & celebrate with your friends and family!
Birthdays: March & April are big birthday months for my husband’s side of the family, mine included! I’m not planning an elaborate birthday party or anything, but I love this cake with the “Hooray” topper and think it could be the perfect cake to ring in 26! It’s elegant and understated, feminine & chic. All words I hope can describe the back half of my 20s!
Kentucky Derby: Growing up in Indiana, celebrating the Kentucky Derby was always fun. The best way to celebrate the Derby (taking place May 1, 2, & 3) is with a mint julep. And this lavender mint julep recipe would be a perfect springtime cocktail! Just wear a big floppy hat & dress and you’ll be off to the races!
Mother’s Day: Following the Kentucky Derby is Mother’s Day on May 10. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be able to celebrate with our moms out in Pennsylvania, but I’m excited this is MY first Mother’s Day! I feel like Mother’s Day is the perfect time to host a brunch for family, & I love the idea of a simple cake with fun toppers as the perfect dessert.
Easter: Easter this year will be a great weekend! If all goes as planned, we will officially begin moving into our new home! Kyle’s parents will be in town, and while I don’t think we’ll be having dinner at the new house (maybe???), it will be a fun final farewell to our apartment! We have a long white table from Crate & Barrel, and I love the idea of adding a box of tulips as a centerpiece. I’m still working on the Easter dinner menu (although, I already reserved my ham!) but feel great about the table setting!
Gender Reveal: In just over a week, Kyle & I get to find out if we are having a boy or girl! We’ve gone back & forth on how we want to find out: At the doctor, with friends, waiting for family, waiting until the birth…and we are opting to do a small brunch in Philadelphia with some friends in the area to join in the celebration! We’ve gone back & forth at what type of “theme” we could do, and I’m leaning toward a bee theme! I saw this pin & couldn’t get over how cute it is!!! We have an alternate plan for our family spread out across the US that I’ll share AFTER our reveal!!
