I hope you enjoy this edition of “Friday Things”! From baking to dresses to business and more, it was a good week of blog reading I’m excited to share with you all!
So after seeing this dress twice in one week (hmm…wonder if Nordstrom really wanted to push this dress…), I of course gave in to the marketing scheme of life and am now anxiously awaiting adding this to my closet! To be fair, I haven’t purchased many clothes (read…any…) for the past 23 weeks of being pregnant (but have been gifted some – thanks Momma Murphy!), so I thought it was time to get something! First, it looks like a great dress to wear while I’m pregnant! I mean, that flowy material is all I want to wear…all day, every day (that and yoga pants). Second, I love the colors & length of the dress. It’s different from anything I currently own, so I’m really anxious to try it on (thank goodness Nordstrom offers free returns just in case!).
2. How to Build a Gallery Wall – found on Lauren Conrad
Since we’re in the process of moving, one thing I’m working toward is creating a gallery wall in our living room. I saw this post by Lauren Conrad, and not only does it show some great places to get prints, but helps lay out a seemingly overwhelming task. Some of my favorite art prints come from Rifle Paper Co. They’re pretty affordable, great quality, and look AMAZING framed & hanging in any room of the house. I also love hand lettering, so I’m a sucker for anything from Lindsay Letters (she just launched her spring prints, too!). We also try to find ways to bring Scripture into the house, and Naptime Diaries does an amazing job of making beautiful prints you can hang in any room.
3. Double Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies – found on Sally’s Baking Addiction
I mean, I don’t think this needs much explanation. You’re welcome.
4. How to Make Your Blog a Business – by Corals & Cognac
Hallie is hysterical, so if you don’t currently follow her, please start. Second, I’m no where NEAR quitting my day job to be a full time blogger. Let’s be real here, if you’re reading this: thank you, you’re one of the few trailblazers for the blog! What I love about this post is how applicable it is regardless of where you’re at. It’s a great reminder to blog for fun vs. money (& to further be clear, I make $0 off this blog right now!), consistent content is key, building your blog/brand takes time, and you’re not in this alone! So stop on over & check her out…she’s definitely living a fun adventure!
