French Pastry Class with Sur la Table








A couple weeks ago, a few of my friends & I took a French Pastry Class at the Sur la Table in King of Prussia. We had so much fun baking macarons, sables & madeleines.  The class was 2.5 hours long and we learned about making meringue, using herbs like lavender, and basic cooking techniques. The chef was great, and provided us tips & short cuts to make the recipes even easier. We even got to take home a few pieces of paper with circles on them to make the perfectly sized macarons every time! The best part was sampling the creations & taking some home.

My favorite was the lemon sable with lavender (similar recipe here), followed by the raspberry macarons with white chocolate ganache filling (similar recipe here) and then the madeleines dipped in chocolate ganache (similar recipe here).

Whether you like to bake or cook, Sur la Table’s cooking classes are perfect to attend solo, as date night (and yes some classes are even labeled date night!), with your best girl friends, or even with family. There are so many classes I want to go to – like grilling seafood (since Kyle & I are afraid to try it out ourselves first), croissants workshop, and grilling basics.
