Since this was our second trip to Napa, I had an idea of where I wanted to explore more & places I wanted to try out. On our first trip, we spent so much time at wineries (of course…) that we didn’t get to enjoy the food scene as much. I made a list of restaurants to try & used Julia Engel’s Napa Archives for inspiration.
One restaurant that topped my list was a brunch spot: Archetype in St. Helena.
The food is just incredible – I highly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes, maple sugared donut holes, and the cheddar biscuits & gravy. It’s best to just order a little bit of everything and share!
I loved the ambience as well – it was so light & airy with a ton of greenery. It just felt like a place you could sit all day sipping some Brut rose. There were basically two sections to the restaurant. A “courtyard” type atmosphere with wooden tables & more outdoorsy type chairs, and then an “inside” section (although the whole restaurant was inside) that had a little more traditional seating and a bar.
We did quite a number on the food – perfect to load up before a full day of drinking.
If you’re planning a trip to Napa, I highly recommend making a pit stop at Archetype! I recommend, like most places in Napa, making reservations early in your planning process!!
