Kyle & I love our babysitters and try to use them regularly so we can continue to focus on US as a couple! Plus, it’s always a fun excuse to get a little fancier! We love to try new places in Indianapolis, and I’ve been dying to check out Tinker Street. I had heard rave reviews since it opened, but it needed to be reserved for a special occasion where we’d leave Aidan at home.
We lucked out with an outdoor spot (which I highly recommend!). They start you off with a “Tinker taste” which is a complimentary taste of champagne – such a great touch!! It inspired us to get a bigger glass to start the appetizers (rose for me, Brut for Kyle).
I ordered the house special – a truffle gnocchi that was seriously amazing!!! I mean, look at those fresh shaved truffles!!! Kyle opted for the sirloin trotter. We shared the basket of french fries as our side. It was all phenomenal – I highly recommend and am sure everything on the menu is fantastic!
For dessert, we trusted our waitress to check out the dessert special: Honey cake with orange blossom cream cheese, strawberry rhubarb jam, and imported Austrian cows’ milk cheese. We weren’t sure how the cheese & cake would mix together, but it’s the perfect combination of sweet & savory!
After dinner we decided to head down to Mass Ave for a cocktail. We wanted to check out Salt that recently opened to see the menu and bar scene. I tried the Rose Daquiri and Kyle got the Pineapple Caipirinha. The drinks were honestly just okay. I don’t think we’d go back for dinner, but the ambience was great and you can’t beat the location. It was fun to sit outside and prolong our date night over some drinks!
We are so thankful for these opportunities to get out and just enjoy our marriage!
