Winter Hydration

Over the holidays, on our adult “getaway” to Chicago, I took an afternoon to visit the Spa at The Palmer House hotel and get a

facial. It had been years since I’ve had a facial, and given the time of year, I knew my skin needed a good pick me up. My aesthetician’s biggest concern was how dry my skin was. In addition to hydrating, she said I needed a serious overhaul on my moisturizing routine. In fairness, I always used a light moisturizer, like Clinique, which just doesn’t cut it for an Indiana winter.

I have always been going back & forth between a few brands that I’ve wanted to try: Dior, Charlotte Tilbury & La Mer. I loved my La Mer minis I bought at last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but the full price price tag is still a little too steep for me.

My friend & I stopped at the Nordstrom on Michigan Ave, and I saw this amazing mini skin care set for the holidays by Charlotte Tilbury. It looked like such an affordable way to test it out before jumping into the full size (kind of like La Mer)! For $59, you get a trio of the cult favorites: Wonderglow Instant Soft-Focus Beauty Flash, Goddess Skin Clay Mask & Charlotte’s Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturizer.

I can’t begin to tell you how THICK (in the best of ways) the Magic Cream is. It smells like sunscreen, which I actually kind of love. It is a noticeable difference between the Magic Cream and a thinner, summery moisturizer like Clinique. I also LOVE the Goddess Skin Clay Mask! I put it on right before a shower and my face feels like butter after!!!

Once i got hooked on Charlotte’s trio, I splurged on the Multi-Miracle Glow Cleanser, Mask & Balm. It feels like a gel cleanser, but you can leave it on without washing it off. I’ve been using it on my stomach to avoid stretch marks (although I know, I know…it’s genetics…) and on my elbows for some extra moisture! This might be my favorite product of the 4!!!
